Site Assessment Criteria

Brief summary of the criteria upon which sites will be assessed:

• Wind Speeds: 8 metres per second is ideal with a minimum annual average wind speed of about 14mph.
  
  
• Proximity to National Grid ideally not exceeding 15km.
  
  
• Preference for minimum site area of 40 acres.
  
  
• Elevation of 200m or greater is ideal.
  
  
• Good vehicular access.
  
  
• No dwellings within 500m.
  
  
• No restrictions in County Development Plan eg, area of outstanding natural beauty, flora/fauna issues, archaeology etc.
  
  
• Good ground conditions.
